ABOUT US
Phase Three of our building development plan opened in Spring Term 2008. The new building consists of new classrooms for Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, a new Pre-Nursery and a Multi Purpose Hall.
Upper School (7-11 year olds, Years 3 - 6) The focus in Upper School is upon achievement and academic excellence with an emphasis on traditional values. We have a challenging curriculum, girls are encouraged and expected to be forward thinking and analytical. They are highly motivated. This is a new package for every girl. Extra curricular activities and residential visits enhance our girls' experience and build independence. Each year group has a residential visit, each visit having a different focus for activities.
	Designated Rooms There are designated rooms for Science, Music, Art, Design Technology and ICT. A Performing Arts Hall and a multi purpose gymnasium. Specialist teachers provide subject knowledge and enthusiasm. Science Years 3 - 6 was identified as a strength of the school in the ISI inspection (2004). Catering for the Individual Class sizes are kept small so that we can continue to cater for individual needs and monitor each child’s progress. The curriculum is differentiated to suit every child. Our Special Needs Coordinator supports staff and pupils in all aspects of school life. Support or booster lessons as well as thinking skills and creative learning lessons all occur naturally. Classroom assistants support in all areas of the curriculum.
Equipped for Future Success We pride ourselves in helping all our girls to realise their academic potential, preparing and equipping them for a wide variety of senior schools. Our girls are confident and ready to take on the diverse secondary education that is right for them. They are ready to widen their horizons, take advantage of new opportunities and achieve their highest aspirations. They learn the sense of adventure that turns learners into thinkers. Our girls regularly achieve scholarships and awards for Senior Schools. They are highly successful in gaining places to selective Senior schools.
