The Newbridge Triangle - Home, School, Child
We are a small school and operate as a family community - a community encompassing all staff, pupils and parents.
Our parents choose us because they value education and coose the atmosphere that the school generates.
Pupils achieve high academic standards, no matter want their ability.
All pupils perform to the best of their ability and achieve excellent results.
Parents appreciate and support the school ethos, our aims and our Mission Statement.
Parents appreciate school's approach:
- Do Your Best and Achieve The Best That You can
- If you do not enter the race, you cannot win
- You may not be the Best, but you can always Do Your Best
- Equal opportunity and fairness for all
They want their child to learn in an atmosphere of:
happiness, support, order, discipline, consistency.
All parents have high expectations.
Staff and children value their support.
Partnership
Everyone is encouraged to contribute towards the life of the school and we view education as a partnership between parents, school and child.
We are allies in the educational journey of your child.
Parents and carers must feel part of the school, to feel valued and welcome in school.
Communication
Parents are welcome to speak to teachers on any matter that concerns them.
Lower and Upper School Coordinators are always available to discuss a child's progress and personal development.
A weekly newsletter provides information and involves all parents.
In September, parents are welcomed to school to a Meet The Teacher Evening.
Plans and activities for the year are given to parents. Teachers explain procedures, expectations and routines.
Parents and carers are kept regularly informed of their child’s progress through written reports and formal parents’ evenings.
There are Parents' Evenings every term. Results of tests and assessments are always discussed and placed in context.
Parents have daily contact with staff.
Parents are also encouraged to share their skills and their time to help benefit the children.
They often accompany our outings, give talks, support sports teams at matches.
Parents willingly transport children to Festivals, matches and competitions.
Each term concerts and drama productions are performed for parents and grandparents.
Parents and carers are invited to class assemblies, school lunches and special days.
Sports' day is particularly well supported.
Newbridge Parents are very supportive of the school.
Parents’ Association
The Parents' Association is a valued member of our family community. It plays a very active role in the life of the school, meeting regularly and arranging social events for families, adults and children.
These events raise considerable sums of money which provide us with extra classroom equipment and many additional resources.
Interactive boards have been purchased for every class.
New P.E. equipment and musical instruments have been given to school.
We have been given a new sound system for our hall.
Interactive boards were purchased for every area of the school.
For 2010 -2011, we are aiming to purchase a new Library monitoring system.
Fund raising is only part of the role of the Parents' Association.
Families join together to share an activity and enjoy each other's company.
Events are planned each term.
